Senior Vetting Officer:
You will conduct 'Gold Standard' security clearance interviews and assessments in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. 

Candidate:
  • You must have worked with, or for, a Commonwealth vetting agency or similar.
  • Personal attributes that are essential for success in the role include being extremely well organised, handling more than a dozen cases simultaneously, a highly professional demeanour coupled with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills that enables you to elicit relevant information quickly and easily.
  • Attention to details is a must.
  • You must be passionate about vetting. 
  • Obtain or hold a NV1 security clearance or above
  • Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting)

Personnel Governance Security Officer - Birtinya

Role:
You will lead and manage pre-employment screening for new starters and ongoing suitability checks for personnel in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), including processing of police checks.

Position Overview
  • Lead and manage clearance requests and sponsorships through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), including handling of non-compliant clearance subjects.
  • Produce and communicate security-awareness education materials to personnel, including coordination of briefing and debriefing of overseas travellers.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships by liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders on difficult or sensitive issues.
  • Help design, develop and review procedure and guidance materials for governance with a focus on personnel security matters.
  • Undertake research for a variety of governance matters, interpreting requirements and organising information to provide recommendations for addressing problems/risk to ensure DISP membership compliance.
  • Maintain the Designated Security Assessed Position (DSAP) and Security Register.
  • Contribute to process audits or reviews and identify improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of own work and that of the team.
  • Represent us professionally at external meetings, gathering, conferences, expos and forums.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on policies, processes and requirements relating to governance and personnel security matters.

You will need:
  • High level (advanced) computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated personal drive, initiative, maturity, integrity, and tact.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in relation to sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a small team, meet deadlines with attention to detail.

As the ideal candidate:
  • You will have current PSPF vetting experience and working knowledge of it.
  • You will have worked with, or for, a commonwealth vetting agency or similar.
  • Personal attributes that are essential for success in the role include being extremely well organised, handling many cases simultaneously, a highly professional demeanour coupled with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills that enables you to elicit relevant information quickly and easily. Attention to detail is a must.
  • You will be a Baseline or NV1 Clearance holder 
  • You will have a Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting)
